Fresh from their successful first performance at Carysbrook, The Central Virginia Jazz Orchestra returns for another afternoon of big band jazz. Their slogan "This is not your grandfathers big band" refers to the bands exciting approach to big band music, giving a more contemporary treatment to selections written from the early "swing days" through recent times. The band’s goal is to entertain its audience, while calling on the players to improvise within the framework of the chord structure and style of each arrangement.
